Hello friends and welcome to a brand spanking new skin care brand that has recently hit our Australian shores (specifically at our fave store Priceline.) Have you heard of Amie? No I’m not talking about the Aami insurance woman – I’m talking about Amie the natural skin care woman.) Lovingly created in the UK, Amie – meaning “friend” in French – is truly “your skin’s best friend”. I was more than happy to review such an approachable brand and give you the break down on how using more natural products really feels like.
But before I get started, I wanted to share what’s not contained in these nature-loving products. This one’s for my all natural friends (shared directly from Amie’s website.)
No sodium laureth sulphate or sodium lauryl sulphate
No ingredients of Genetically Modified Origin
No animal testing
No animal ingredients
All products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans
So my first impression of Amie – the packaging is super cute and very fun. It really grabs your eye and looks super approachable. The second thing I loved is that on each product – it clearly and boldly states how the product is used (I dunno about you, but I have poor eyesight and this makes things easier for me!)
First I tried the Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish* and the first thing I thought was – this smells absolutely amazing – like I just started eating a mango right here in the shower. It smelt so natural and sweet – making me smile. As you can see in the image below – this particular exfoliating scrub has little balls in it but not as many as other scrubs I have used previously. It feels smooth, silky yet effective at the same time. To be honest – this is one of the best exfoliating scrubs I have used on my combination skin.
I have used this product for a few weeks now (2-3 times a week) and really enjoy using it. My skin has begun to feel more smooth after use than it did a few weeks ago and I’m excited to see how it will be in another few weeks time. (Will keep you gems updated via this post.)
Next I tried the Gently Cleansing Micellar Water*. As many of you may be aware out there – Micellar water has become a big craze in the beauty and blogger-sphere. I haven’t used a micellar water yet and was really excited to give it a try. I found this a great make-up remover after a big day at work/big night out and also love using it to tone my skin twice a week. I have only used this about 4 times now and haven’t had many complaints. This product really cleaned the dirt off my face – even when I haven’t worn any make-up! It’s a great product and I continue to use it on a weekly basis.
The only thing I will mention is that the last time I used it (To shoot the below photos – I did have a burning sensation on my face for about 20 minutes after I washed it off.) This has only happened 1/4 times so I am not sure why that was. I haven’t had any sensations using it since.
Have you had the same sensation as I have above with this product? Let me know in the comments below as I’d love to know!
Another great thing about Amie is – they are super affordable! All of their products are $9.99 or under! You can check out the full range now available at Priceline here. Now that I have been using these products for a short time – I’d really love to try Spring clean deep cleansing mask.
Do you notice the difference when using all natural products? For myself personally – I think you do in terms of the products being less harsh on your skin. I do appreciate that about Amie products and I feel as though they are working their natural magic.
I noticed as well on their official website that they have a little more variety which you can buy online here. I do hope they bring out the sheet masks and eye make-up remover to Priceline.
What do you think of Amie? Have you ever used their products before? Let me know in the comments below. I would love to hear your opinions on this all-natural brand.
